Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infections (CAUTIs) are common HAIs. Sterile technique during insertion and proper drainage maintenance are critical.

CAUTI Prevention Bundle

  • Use strict aseptic technique during catheter insertion.
  • Maintain a closed drainage system; do not disconnect the tubing.
  • Keep the collection bag below the level of the bladder at all times.
  • Provide regular perineal care with soap and water.
